Dr Tavares graduated from New York University, College of Dentistry. Prior to that she completed an Honours Bachelor of Sciences from the University of Guelph. Dr Tavares gained international dental experience as a resident general practician dentist at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, New York. Dr Tavares is currently a member of the American Dental Association and Ontario dental Association, as well as an Omicron Kappa Upsilon Member. Dr Tavares feels that getting the opportunity to experience living in a different city while completing dental school, really showed her the many ways dentistry can affect someone’s life— whether it’s giving someone their smile back or taking someone out of pain; being a positive influence in a person’s life is a large part of what has driven her to
